Players take turn rolling a dice, and based on that roll
Move one of their marbles forward (clockwise) along the shared inside game path. The number of spaces moved matches the dice roll.
A roll of a "1" or "6" allows movement along the path. It can also be used to move a marble from their Starting Base onto the shared inside game path.
If a player lands their marble on another player's marble, that marble is sent back to it's Starting Base. A player can not land a marble on a space already occupied by one of their other marbles.
Rolling a "6" gets the player an extra turn.
One roll may NOT be split among multiple marbles (no partial or split moves).
A player can move any of their marbles. They do not have to move the forward marble.
Players can pass (jump over) other marbles.
A player must move one of their marbles, if possible.
Player may not move a marble if it would land on a space already occupied by one of their own marbles. If no other move is possible, the player’s turn ends.
If a player lands on a space occupied by any other player, the other player’s marble is removed and sent back to the other player’s Starting Base to start over.
In order to bring a marble safely into the player’s Home after completing the path, a player must roll the exact number corresponding to an empty, available space.
If a player cannot enter Home on an exact roll, and the player has no other legal moves, then the player must wait on the path until the player’s next turn.
In Team play, if a player’s only option is to land on a space occupied by a fellow team member’s marble, that team member’s marble must be sent back to their Starting Base.
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
If I have no marbles on the path, and I roll a 1 or a 6, do I have to bring out a marble even if I don’t wish to? Yes.
What if I roll the dice, but I have no legal moves possible? You pass the dice and your turn ends (unless you rolled a 6, in which case you are allowed an additional roll).
Can I move a marble already in my Home to another available spot in my Home? Yes.
WAR aka "King of the Hill", aka "Last Player Standing"
In the classic version of the game, the object is to be the first to move all your marbles from their Starting Base to their Home base. When you land on another player's marble, it is sent back to it's Starting Base. In the war version of the game, the object is to be the only player with one or more marbles left on the board. When you land on another player's marble, it is removed from the board.
